Unique Double-skin Construction

The double-skin construction creates an insulating air gap within the louvre. Vergola® describes this as helping keep outdoor areas cooler in summer and warmer in winter than a single-skin louvre system.

Why Colorbond®?

Colorbond® is more than simply painted steel. Its multi-layer construction provides both protection and the finished colour surface.
The construction includes:
-
a ZINCALUME® coated steel base;
-
a conversion layer that assists coating adhesion and protection;
-
a durable protective coating system; and
-
exterior-grade paint baked onto the surface.
The ZINCALUME® base provides corrosion protection, while the baked-on Colorbond® finish provides additional protection against weather and UV exposure.

Does Vergola Brisbane provide other Louvre Material and Colour Options?
Powder-Coated Aluminium Louvres
Vergola Brisbane can supply full extruded aluminium louvres with a powder-coated finish.
The Dulux Powder Coat Series provides a much wider choice of colours and finishes, including solid, textured, metallic and pearlescent options.
This can be particularly useful where an architect, builder or homeowner wants a specific colour or finish outside the standard Vergola® Colorbond® range.
Vergola Brisbane works with many leading Brisbane builders, construction companies and architects, and powder-coated options are sometimes specified by architects as part of the overall building design.
ZINCALUME® Louvres
Vergola Brisbane can also supply roll-formed ZINCALUME® steel louvres.
ZINCALUME® has a natural metallic silver finish rather than the painted finish of Colorbond®.
The louvres are roll-formed using the same fabrication method as the Colorbond® version. This is different from the powder-coated aluminium option, which uses extruded aluminium.
ZINCALUME® is especially appropriate for older Queensland homes, where the goal is to match or enhance existing corrugated iron or metal roofs.
How Do I Choose the Right Vergola Colour and Finish?
There are three options:
-
Vergola® Colorbond® steel – the standard double-skin louvre available in eight colours.
-
ZINCALUME® steel – a natural metallic finish.
-
Powder-coated aluminium – offering a much wider selection of colours and architectural finishes.
Because colours can appear differently on computer and phone screens, we recommend reviewing current physical colour samples before making your final selection.
